Brian Kasstle has been collecting odd bits of paper from a very young age. He studied art at the University of Montana and in Southern California. Using odd bits of found paper, he is a mixed media artist primarily focusing on art journaling and canvas. His approach to art is through many layers that parallel the layers of our lives. Spread 120 - Depth: Is about developing as an artist. Experimenting, growing, changing, failing, succeeding.

Spread 131 - Ugly: Is a work that evolved over time. "Ugly" is the result of doing seven spreads one on top of the other, alternately keeping what I liked of the spread, and then redoing parts of the spread that I did not like. There are a lot of layers buried in this piece.

Spread 133 - Break It: Is about breakthroughs. Sometimes to have a breakthrough we need to break our thoughts.
