Nicola Beuscher is primarily interested in landscape, alternative processes, and photos whose meanings are tied to the specific experiences of the photographer while he or she took them. She studies nature, philosophy, science, and film and enjoys editing sequences together and crafting photo-books. Currently, she is assembling a series of Wyoming landscapes taken while working on a cattle ranch.

From 2011-2014, I spent my winters on Cape Cod National Seashore in the place where I spent my summers as a child. Because the Cape is known for her summertime attractions, I aimed to describe here the sublimity of the winterscape: the way the dunes stand still, lonely; the way trees and broken fences lean with diagonal pleasure; the way snow flurries on the beach and then coats the sand; how those of us who spend the winter get to know the intimate contours of a cold, unpopulated land where secret pilgrim memories are revealed as hidden-from-summertime shapes emerge. My hope is that these photos capture both a geographical and mental landscape.
