Our Nominees for Best of the Net 2014
It was not easy picking recent poems, essays, and stories from Flyway for our submission to the Sundress Publications 2014 Best of the Net anthology. We’ve been receiving some excellent, beautiful work for publication, and we had a cornucopia of show-stopping creative pieces to choose from.
But we battened down the hatches, sorted through the website, and came up with our favorite five poems, two works of creative nonfiction, and two works of fiction.
And the nominees are:
POETRY
“Where the Bees Are Going” by Ori Fienberg
“Urban Phone Pole” by Matt Sumpter
“American Roadkill” by Allison Cumming
“Flowers Which as in a Dream at Sunset I Watered Faithfully Not Knowing How Much I Loved Them” by Bradley Harrison
“Ghost Song” by Lucien Darjeun Meadow
NONFICTION
“What Broke in the Move” by Megan Schikora
“Four Vignettes” by Nicole Santalucia
FICTION
“Flood Gap” by Dana Thomann
“Teeth” by Erica Stern
We’re wishing these authors the best of luck in having their work selected for the anthology – but we’re extremely proud to have had the opportunity to publish them, either way.
